Notes
Papa Doo Run Run (PDRR) was founded in 1965, as The Zu, then changed their name to Goodie Two Shoes, in Cupertino, CA., and is made up of current and former members of the Beach Boys, Jan & Dean's, Frankie Valli's and Brian Wilson's bands.

Papa Doo Run Run is known for their award winning re-creation of the hits of the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean. They toured N. America as the opening act and back-up band for Jan & Dean between 1976 and 1980. In 1981 they moved from Jan & Dean to an association with the Beach Boys, and performed and recorded with members of that band for the following two decades. The group also had a 15-year engagement as the “Celebrity House Band” at Disneyland in California beginning in 1975.

Papa Doo Run Run still averages nearly 100 dates a year worldwide, with 2 original founding members, Zirilli & Rush, at the helm. The band has produced 10 albums (CD's) and a full length live show DVD, plus another 7 singles and 2 EP's. Over the 4½ decades they have been performing, they have earned 2 Gold Record awards and a Grammy nomination. In 2007, Papa Doo Run Run was inducted into the N California Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

They were also featured as the back-up band for Jan & Dean in the 1978 made-for-tv CBS biopic Deadman's Curve which had a soundtrack album featuring Papa Doo Run Run.

Their first major record release, Be True To Your School (RCA, 1975), was produced by Bruce Johnston of the Beach Boys. It made the Billboard Hot 100 nationally and reached number 1 in California. Their CD, California Project (Telarc, 1985) entered the Hot 100 Chart at number 17, earning the band their second Gold Record and a Grammy Nomination.
